Until very recently, Lisa was a Programme Manager for Groundwork NE & Cumbria (Groundwork is a charity that is seeking to transform lives in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities).
Some words from Lisa about herself: “ I have lived in Darlington all my life except for three years when I lived in Leeds attending university completing a Sport Health Leisure and Nutrition degree. I've had a variety of different jobs from cleaning, to sales assistant, to media and marketing officer within a football organisation.
Most of my work experience and skills have been within the voluntary sector as a Programme Manager at Groundwork NE & Cumbria, managing a variety of community and regeneration projects across the Tees Valley and Durham. I am now working as an Area Manager at Xenzone, an online counselling service. Voluntarily I'm the treasurer for Darlington Chinese Association and a Governor at Harrowgate Hill Primary School.
I'm a sociable person and love family time which includes my husband Pete and two children, William and Freya. We extended our family recently with Belle, our six month old Labrador who keeps us very busy and encourages us to take long walks. When I have time to myself, I'm usually organising something like an event or party but I also enjoy horse riding and never turn down the opportunity to have afternoon tea. I have strong values and really thrive from making a difference whether it be supporting an individual or a whole community to improve their quality of life.”
