Steve Rose is Chief Executive of Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees, the voice, representation and support for Stockton-on-Tees’ VCSE community. Catalyst delivers the Stockton VCSE Strategy, which aims to ensure that the sector becomes stronger and more influential in the development of public policy as well as playing a full role in the delivery of services in the Borough.
Steve came to Catalyst following a career which included working in theatre, youth work, and regeneration. The role of which he is most proud was to relocate a service for young homeless people from Covent Garden to Kings Cross in London. Whilst there he was heavily involved with supporting and representing the community affected by the capital developments linked to the Eurostar Terminal at St Pancras.
Steve moved to the North East in 2003 and became Chief Executive of Darlington Partnership then a number of years as an independent consultant. Steve was appointed as Chief Executive of Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees in 2013.
Since then Steve has overseen the expansion of Catalyst’s projects and staff, and encouraged the growth of Catalyst’s Health and Wellbeing Programme; eventually leading to Catalyst winning a national award for Catalyst’s collaborative work with the Hartlepool and Stockton CCG. Steve is still actively involved in volunteering in the region.
